When I began photographing for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, I never could have imagined how much this organization would touch my heart. Now, not only have these families who need our services, but women who are willing to help me with this mission have touched my heart. One of my first sessions I had a baby that the hospital didn't have blankets for, except the hosital blankets. They also didn't have any "extras" for the baby. Recently several women have blessed me by knitting, or crocheting booties, hats and blankets for me to have on my sessions to give to the families. This makes such a difference when the family is unprepared and doesn't have a blanket other than the hospital blanket on hand. Imagine looking at your precious baby's photos and seeing that hospital blanket and having the memories all come flooding back. The blankets represent the hospital and I don't want that for my families. Fortunately with a nice crocheted blanket it gives the image more of a feeling of love than hospital. Someone cared about that baby enough to create something warm for them. I am just SO VERY thankful for these ladies helping out these families.
So ladies, if you are reading this, know you are appreciated so very much!
